These types of events are entry in advance, preferably using an online entry system, it usually costs £9 for adult competitors. Some entry on the day is normally available, but at an increased fee. There is a range colour-coded course, with recommendations for each age band and gender. Adult members of British Orienteering get a discount.

These types of events have previously been known as Regional or Level B events.
