10 of these events are organised across the UK each year and provide the premiere competitions of the fixtures calendar. At least one will usually be in the YHOA region. A range of age and gender related courses are provided and pre-entry via a standard or special entry form is required. Details are available on the British Orienteering website fixtures page. Cost of entry is usually around £10 or more for adult competitors - lower for juniors. A limited range of Colour coded courses may be offered on the day.

These types of events have in the past been known as National or Level A events.
