Been wanting to add this feature since we started the page way back in September 2018, and now has been the perfect opportunity to give it a bit of TLC. Give it a try now!
2020 Junior Camp Selections
Despite the cancellation of this year's selection races, selections for JROS and British Talent Camps have been made on the basis of other results and recommendations from coaches. Congratulations to the following SYO juniors:
British Junior Squad Talent Camp Tier 1:
Euan, Jamie, Imogen & Alex C
Lagganlia:
Sam T, Conrad & Ciara
Deeside:
Max, Will G, Sam C & Matthew
Stockholm:
Euan & Alex E
Gothenburg:
Dom & Isabelle H
Many of these camps are unlikely to go ahead this summer but it is hoped that virtual alternatives and also weekend camps in the Autumn will be arranged.
Minecraft Orienteering
Four intrepid SYO juniors travelled to Venice (via Australia) this weekend for the second in a series of international Minecraft orienteering competitions https://www.spurposting.com/minecraft.
The organisers had built a magnificent 'world' complete with St Mark's Square, canals, and bridges. Competitors kitted themselves out with compasses and dibbers and ran challenging courses against people from all round the world.
Robbie finished 3rd in the M/W14 class with Anna 6th and Sam 10th, but the standout performance was from Jack (with help from Ella and Richard) who finished in 18th despite being one of youngest competitors.
If you’re into Minecraft you can run the course and see if you can beat the experts by joining at IP address 104.254.239.29 (Minecraft Java only).
