Details

Hope you all enjoyed your first visit to Herringthorpe Valley, I think it is another good new area for an evening event! Massive thank you to Paul for planning, Henry for controlling and David for organising, plus Ian on the start and finally ShUOC for coming to the rescue and heading out into the gloom to collect controls.

Results and splits are on the links above.

Information

Herringthorpe Valley has not been used for orienteering for many years. It provides an interesting mix of terrain including ancient woodland, open common and parkland.  There are courses for experienced orienteers, families, runners and those who'd prefer to walk & chat! We'll have our friendly volunteers on hand to tell you what to do. All welcome!

Additional Safety Info

Sunset is 19.30. Later starters must take a headtorch and a headtorch is recommended for all starters on the longer courses to enable map reading as the woods can be quite gloomy in the twilight.

Full leg cover is required on short green, green and blue courses.

There are some steep slopes on the area so shoes with good drip are advised on these courses, although short green is planned to avoid the steepest slopes.

Volunteers

As normal, we need a couple of helpers on start and some control collectors.

If you can help, please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Helpers receive a free run. Please pick "Helper - free run" when entering
