A huge thank you to the small team responsible for the success of last night’s event. Thank you to Robbie, Freya and Anna for helping on SI, Jacky for helping with all the equipment and on the start, Pete for managing the SI and our fabulous control collectors –Matt, Thomas and Pete. Always a big ask going back out in the dark…..Thanks also to Ian for the map updates.

Particular thanks of course to Paul Bradbury for planning, control collecting and helping on the start - man of all trades! Lots of good feedback on the challenging but enjoyable courses - an excellent first planning attempt!

Silver Wood is a small ancient woodland with a complex network of paths, some interesting contour detail and a rich variety of vegetation. There are some lovely areas of runable beech forest. The area has been extended to include an area of open common with small pockets of woodland. It hasn't been used for an event for many years. There's a choice of 4 courses to suit juniors, newcomers and experienced orienteers.
