Details
A scorching start to this years schools league in more ways than one - record temperature and super quick times!
Well done to everyone who ran today. For those who like stats: 332 runs, 121 hours of running covering 623km (if you all went in a straight line between controls!) and 13200m of climbing. Definitely all deserved an ice cream after that, as do our planner Chris, controller Colin, mapper Ian and all of our lovely on the day volunteers without whom the event couldn't happen.
Results and splits are on the links above (If anyone wonders what 'nc' means it is non-competitive, normally because they have run the course a second time). Schools team and year group results are below. Individual results are on the 'Other' link above. If anyone spots any errors please
Finally good luck to all South Yorkshire juniors who are competing at the Peter Palmer Relays tonight. This a 7 leg over-night inter-club relay, we're defending champions and have 4 teams going so good luck everyone.
Next schools league is on 7th October at Bolehill Park in Crookes, if you enjoyed today come along and bring a friend. We also have an event at Rivelin on Sunday 1th Oct and our neighbouring club Derwent Valley have an event at Longshaw on Sunday 8th Oct.

See below for details on the courses on offer. Distances are provisional:
Course | School Years | Distance | Technical Level | Who is it for? |
White |
Y4,5 |
1.1 km | 1 | The easiest course and a great place for children to start. The course is entirely on paths and each time you have to make a decision - which path to take, there will be a control point. Year 3 pupils can compete with Y4s. |
Yellow | Y6,7 | 1.5km | 2 | The next step up and a good place for teenagers etc. to start. The course will use paths but also other line features - Fences, streams etc. It will also no longer have a control everytime you need to decide where you are going. For example you may need to make a couple of turns on paths between controls |
Orange | Y8,9 | 2.2km | 3 |
Harder still, the Orange course introduces:
|
Light Green | Y10, Y11 | 3km | 4 |

Green | G12, G13 Adult |
3.6km | 5 |
Navigationally as hard as the area allows with plenty of route choice. Over 16s only due to road crossings |
Blue |
