Come and experience the challenge of night orienteering around the streets of Kelham Island. With a choice of 3 different courses, this race caters to experienced orienteers, runners and newcomers alike and is part of Sheffield's month long Festival of the Outdoors.

Location & Parking

Based at the Fat Cat, Alma St, Kelham Island. Postcode S3 8SA. Registration and start in the garden room of the Fat Cat.

Courses

Courses on offer will be Long ( approx 6.5km) Medium (approx 4.5km) and Short (approx 2.5km). Distances are straight line routes so you will run lots further than the stated distances. The long course is not suitable for beginners.

Timings

Starts from 6.45-7.30. Courses close 8.30pm

Cost

£6 adults (£5 members), £3 juniors / students. Dibber hire free. If you go round as a pair you just pay for 1 entry.

Register in advance

Please enter in advance via the SYO entry system, Entries open on Tuesday 7th March and close on Monday 13th March.

Additional Safety Info

Please take care crossing roads. Juniors welcome but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. You must wear reflective clothing and carry a headlight!

Post event social

Join us for beer and / or food in the Fat Cat post race. Food will need to be pre-ordered via the entry system by Monday 13th March. Meat or Vegan Curry - £7.50 per person.

Safety & risk

A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. If a competitor has a pre-existing medical condition that they think should be declared, please complete a medical form at enquiries. The sealed envelope will only be opened in an emergency.

A fine pub with a great range of beer is a good starting point for an urban event which can range up to Walkley, down to the canal or into the City Centre.
