Details
Brilliant start to the daylight evening events, although it was a bit murky by the end. I hope you all enjoyed the courses from David. Results and splits above. As ever a big thank you to our helpers Colin D, Pete, Kris, Rob, Mark A, Margaux, Simon, Jonny & Euan.
Celebrate the return of light evenings and join us for an orienteering race on Loxley Common. Loxley Common is an interesting mix of woodland and open common land. There is a wealth of interesting contour detail to challenge experienced orienteers and a good path network to cater for the less experienced. This event is part of the Outdoor City's Festival of the Outdoors. Newcomers are very welcome.

Additional Safety Info
Please take a headtorch if starting after 6pm as the light fades quickly at this time of year and it will make reading the map much easier! Full leg cover should be worn by competitors on orange, green, blue courses and studded shoes recommended, especially if it has been wet. The Common is very popular with dog walkers, especially close to the two main car parks, so beware of dogs!

Venue
Loxley Common comprises of large areas of open common land, runnable underfoot with a complex network of paths on grass, heather and bracken common. To the south there is an area of woodland, with a small section very bouldery. There is some intricate contour detail created by old mine/quarry workings..
The area was used for the Senior Home International relays in 2006 with a resurvey by Oli Johnson; minor updates have been undertaken in 2010 and 2012.
