Explore the varied terrain of Treeton Dyke and woods at SYO's regional orienteering event. There's a full range of courses on offer to suit experienced orienteers, families and newcomers.
Parking
At Home Decor on the Woodhouse Mill industrial estate opposite Falconer Lane. It is 5 Minutes from Assembly on the South side of the B6200. Please use the postcode for Assembly. However, please do NOT approach via West Lane from Aughton, which is very narrow and needs to be crossed on the way to Assembly.. Approach instead from either the East or West on the B6200 and look for orienteering signs into the Home Décor car park. £2 per car.
Assembly
Assembly including registration, enquiries, download, toilets & a children's playground are situated in the Recreation Ground off Falconer Lane, S13 9ZL. Please cross the B6200 from the car park using the pedestrian crossing. Children should be accompanied by an adult. Shelter will be provided so bags can be left while you are running.
Entries
Entries are open on Fabian4 , with self-selected start times.
Entries open until 1st May, will probably be extended until 6th May subject to map availability. No entry on the day.
£8 senior members, +£2 non members for Light Green, Short Green, Green, Blue, Short Brown
£4 Juniors/Students and for all on Orange, Yellow, White
Starts: 10.30am - 12.30pm Approx 400m (10 minute walk) from assembly. This is along a narrow lane with minimal traffic. Please take care. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
Finish: Approx 100m from assembly.
Map: 1:7500.
Terrain:
The area consists of two areas of mostly runnable sloping woodland with interesting contour detail, which provide a good contrast with the largely open gently contoured area of complex vegetation on the other side of Treeton Dyke lake.

Safety & risk
A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. If a competitor has a pre-existing medical condition that they think should be declared, please complete a medical form at enquiries. The sealed envelope will only be opened in an emergency.

Venue
Two areas of mostly runnable sloping woodland linked by 100m of path. A good contrast is provided by a largely open gently contoured area on the other side of Treeton Dyke lake that was added to the map in 2008 by Tim Tett.
