Details
Don't you just love urbans... You check a control site on Friday fine no problem, but by Sunday it is all blocked off... At least we spotted it in time to update the Black, Brown and Light Green maps, hope it all made sense!
Thank you to Colin Drury for planning, Colin Best for Controlling and Louise Reynolds for Organising (her first event wearing the organisers hat - well done). Thanks of course to all the rest of our volunteers.
Splits and results and routegadget are above - sorry to the Ultras and Hypers, we had switched courses round in the results system and could only fix that once we'd finished the event. They should be correct now.

In 3 weekends' time...
If you enjoyed our Urban today, you might like to consider coming to the Sheffield T20 Sprints on Sunday 11th July.
It will be a brilliant weekend to visit Sheffield, with the British Bouldering Champs taking place as part of the wider Cliffhanger festival, so lots to have a look at inbetween the Prologue and Chasing-start Final!
More details on the T20 event page
Join us for a classic urban orienteering race in the challenging terrain of Sheffield. There is also a sprint option for those prefering this discipline. This event is part of the YHOA Urban league. Newcomers welcome. This event must be pre-entered.

The terrain in inner urban Sheffield is challenging so it has not been possible to plan a yellow course. It is advised that younger less experienced juniors are shadowed on course 7 and that M/W12s should not run up to course 6. Juniors who have not yet reached their 16th birthday on 20th June can only run courses 6 and 7
Parking
There is plenty of cheap and free off-street parking around. Access to Start/finish etc along Broomhall Street from Devonshire Green (S3 7SW) as shown on map below. No orienteers to park in area bounded by black line to ensure no walking into start area crossing runners going out.

Assembly, Start, finish and download will all be just inside entrance to Springfield estate from Devonshire Green – see map (to follow).

COVID Guidance for Competitors and Volunteers
Some key points from the code of conduct:
- You must not take part in any form of orienteering if you or any member of your household have had recent Covid-19 symptoms.
- Minimise contact with people from outside your household before, during and after your run. Practise social distancing at all times, including before and after your run as well as when you are out on your course. Take particular care to keep the required distance from other people in the vicinity of the Start, at download and when passing other competitors or members of the public on narrow paths, going through gates, etc.
- Sanitise your hands before and after your run.
- Do not touch the controls. If using a SIAC dibber hover your hand above the SI unit. If dibbing, just place the dibber in the hole, without touching the box.
- Please be super courteous to any members of the public that you come across before, during or after the event.
