Courses
Subject to final controlling.
Course | Distance (km) | Climb (m) | Controls | Technical Level | Who is it for? |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
White | 1.6 | 9 | 1 |
The easiest course and a great place for children to start. The course is entirely on paths and each time you have to make a decision - which path to take, there will be a control point. |
|
Yellow | 1.8 | 9 | 2 |
The next step up and a good place for teenagers etc. to start. The course will use paths but also other line features - Fences, streams etc. |
|
Orange |
2.5 | 11 | 3 |
Harder still, the Orange course introduces:
|
|
Light Green | 3.6 | 12 | 4 |
Harder than the orange. There will be more route choice, longer legs and controls further off the path. |
|
Short Green |
3.3 | 12 | 5 | All these courses have the same technical difficulty and are planned to be as hard as the area allows. As the course distance increases the scope for longer legs also increases. | |

Venue
Ramsley Moor was mapped and used for the first time in 2009 and was described on Nopesport by one well known member of AIre as "a real gem"
Open mostly heathery moorland with large areas of runnable woodland, dissected by a large valley. There are few linear features. If it is wet, spotting the best crossing point for some of the marshes can be important.
