Details
Thank you to everyone who came and flew around the courses today. The event and prize-giving went very well thanks to our band of volunteers, thank you to everyone who helped, especially to Mary Flemming for planning and the team that got the controls out and back in.

Event Information
A fun score event open to all. It will be followed by the prize giving for schools and individuals participating in the 2018/19 Saturday Series.
Location
Millhouses Park, Abbeydale Rd South, S7 2QQ. There are 2 pay & display car parks at either end of the park or you can park nearby on residential roads.
Courses
In a score event the object is to find as many contols as possible within the given time limit. There will be a short score course of 30 minutes that stays within the confines of Millhouses Park and a long score of 45 minutes that extends into Hutcliffe Wood. There is also an odds and evens score - collect all odd controls before switching to even (or vice versa - with a time allowance of 1 hour.
Costs
Adults £5 (Members £4), Juniors, students £2.
Pairs and family groups welcome - just pay for 1 entry.
Timings
Registration and starts from 1-2.30pm outside the cafe. The prize giving for the league will be at 3.30pm.
Facilities
Cafe, playground, toliets, tennis courts, bowling green and a boating lake!
Saturday Series Prize-giving
There are medals and certificates for the 1st 3 boys and 1st 3 girls in each age class - Y3/4, Y5, Y6, Y7, Y8, Y9, Y10, Y11, Y12. There are also certificates and prizes for the 1st 3 school teams in each class Y3/4, Y5, Y6, Y7, Y8-9 & Y10-11. The 1st 3 schools in the primary and secondary categories receive prizes and certificates. Commitment is also recognised with a momento awarded to those that have participated in all 9 events in the league and there is a certificate for every child that has done 5 events or more.
There will also be prizes for the adult league recognising both newcomers and established orienteers - results to be revealed shortly!
Safety & risk
A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. If a competitor has a pre-existing medical condition that they think should be declared, please complete a medical form at enquiries. The sealed envelope will only be opened in an emergency.
