Details
The coaching session on Sat 16th March has been cancelled due to the weather. It has been re-arranged for Sat 30th March
There is a coaching and training session on Saturday 30th March at Treeton. Experienced orienteers will enjoy the navigational challenge of the open area with interesting vegetation and contour detail while newcomers and younger juniors are well catered for with the extensive path network and obvious water features. Sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities.
Please meet at the start of the public footpath at the end of Falconer Lane (nearest postcode S13 9ZL). Please park considerately on nearby residential roads.
If you would like to attend please
The sessions will run from 1pm to 2pm. The session is shorter than normal because 2 final coaching assessments are taking place and the assessors need to spend time with the coaches post session. It is really important that you arrive by 12.45pm so we can start promptly at 1pm because of the assessments. Post session collecting of controls by participants in Steve's & Pete's groups will also be much appreciated.
Parents who wish to accompany their children on the activities are encouraged or alternatively are very welcome to join the adult's group and have a go themselves. Children under 8 and those who can’t complete a white course on their own must be accompanied by an adult at all times. All participants should wear full leg cover, sturdy footwear and should bring a water bottle and waterproofs.
Cost is £3 per session to non-members, free to club members.
Safety & risk
A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. If a competitor has a pre-existing medical condition that they think should be declared, please complete a medical form at enquiries. The sealed envelope will only be opened in an emergency.

Venue
Two areas of mostly runnable sloping woodland linked by 100m of path. A good contrast is provided by a largely open gently contoured area on the other side of Treeton Dyke lake that was added to the map in 2008 by Tim Tett.
