Tuesday:  Routegadget now up, with this event results added to the end of the schools score results.  They had a minute to study their map, so an advantage over informal event competiors.

If you haven't used Routegadget for a score event before, it is worth a look even if you don't put your route on.  Every competitor has two tick-boxes.  The left-hand one shows on the map the sequence of controls visited.  If you tick the right-hand one for yourself and your competitors, you can then replay the event as if you all started together.

A fun event; ideal for newcomers whilst still providing a challenge to experienced orienteers.

Format - 45 minutes to find as many controls as you can. Each control is worth 10 points. Collecting all the controls within the time limit will provide a significant challenge even to an elite orienteer. 5 points penalty for each minute or part minute late back.

Prizes:  Small prizes for male and female winner, plus anyone else who can get all controls in 45 minutes.

Travel and parking:  There are brown tourist signs on the A57 directing you to Rother Valley Country Park. When you leave the A57 you travel south on the A618 to the Park entrance which is on your right.  Satnav S26 5PQ takes you along the A618, but may end up too far north.  GR SK468820 is the turn off to the Park.  When you enter the Park there is a barrier and payment booth. The parking charge is £5. It is then 2km to the parking which is in a number of locations, all hard standing.  There is no charge for cycles.

Assembly details etc: can be found in the schools event final details.

Registration - 1pm- 1.30pm. Entry on the day only.

Start -1.45 - 2:00 (timed to start once all the schools' competitors are back).

Cost - £5 adults (£4 British Orienteering members), £3 students & juniors over 16. Pairs and family groups welcome - just pay for 1 entry.
