Where:
Ecclesall Woods - Sheffield
Category:
Club Training

Details

Given the weather forecast for tomorrow we have decided to cancel the club training planned in Ecclesall tomorrow. We don't think that any of the juniors will get much pleasure running around in the rain and sleet. We will run the training in January instead when the weather is bound to be much better...

The YHOA junior squad training is going ahead as planned.

SYO are running a coaching session for beginner and improver orienteers on Saturday 12th December in Ecclesall Woods. We will meet halfway down Whirlowdale Rd (off Abbey Lane) at 12.50pm. Look out for the orienteering flag.

Please email Pauline Tryner if you would like to attend - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 07901 912113 if you require further information.

The sessions will start at 1pm. Group 1 will finish at 2pm, Group 2 & 3 at 2.30pm. Parents who wish to accompany their children on the activities are encouraged.

Cost will be £3 per session to non-members, free to club members.

Venue

Ecclesall Woods comprises over 100 hectares (300 acres) of mature deciduous woodland of variable runnability and is notable for a large number of thickets. The gently sloping land is divided by two roads and a network of bridleways, footpaths, streams and ditches. Some of the minor paths have become overgrown or are difficult to discern when covered by autumn leaves.
