Comments:

Thanks everyone for coming – it was great to welcome some first timers and also good to see so many kids. Hope you all enjoyed the great weather and that the courses were challenging and enjoyable given the area.

From an organisers point of view three short sprints is a nice format as it keeps the courses relatively compact. Beginners have the option of moving onto a shorter harder course if they feel they have mastered yellow and orange whilst others have the possibility of some mass-start head to head racing … and even with only four runners they still managed to contrive a duel to the death sprint finish between town and gown.

Thanks to all helpers – Pete Gorvett, Colin Lynch and Matt from Capetown.

Venue

Bingham Park is mainly mature woodlands on the slopes of the river valley with some open areas.  Some events also extend to the adjoining Whiteley Woods which are also mature woodlands.  Here some interesting features are provided by the boundaries and building ruins from long-abandoned allotments.
