Terrain

Loxley Common is an area of open common land which is gradually being reclaimed by natural species of trees. It is runnable underfoot with a complex network of paths on grass and heather with some bracken. To the south there is an area of woodland, with a small section which is very bouldery. There is some intricate contour detail throughout the area created by old mine/quarry workings.

The area was used for the Senior Home International relays in 2006 when the map was resurveyed by Oli Johnson; updates have been undertaken in 2010 by Marcus Pinker with some recent minor updates, the latest in 2014 by Charles Hird.

It is an excellent area for a Middle Distance Race.
