Thanks to all who turned out for this Night Cup event. I somewhat underestimated the time needed to put out the controls (and to make some corrections when I realised that I'd put the wrong boxes to some controls!) Distance covered putting out controls 12 km, according to my GPS! This included going back (after all controls were out) to find an SI card that I was using for checking that somehow got detached from its string. Apologies to Monika and Ian for failing to get all controls out in advance; you had the added challenge of finding some control sites without a control.
Kit was all found and brought back to base; the three kites I had put out at the entrance were still there, but lying on the ground, presumably blown down by the wind. Sorry you had to guess where the venue was. I finally made it home for 11 pm!
Particular thanks go to David Haywood for running registration, start and download.
All the best,
Henry Marston

Safety & risk
A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. If a competitor has a pre-existing medical condition that they think should be declared, please complete a medical form at enquiries. The sealed envelope will only be opened in an emergency.
Photography
SYO has an agreed policy on the taking of photographs at events, based on national guidance. This provides a sensible balance between the benefits and risks associated with the taking and use of images. If you are unsure about acceptable practice, please speak to the event organiser. Read our photography policy.
Privacy
When entering our events your personal details (name, gender, age class & club) will appear in the results section of this website. Read our privacy policy to see how we look after your personal data.
Venue
Two areas of mostly runnable sloping woodland linked by 100m of path. A good contrast is provided by a largely open gently contoured area on the other side of Treeton Dyke lake that was added to the map in 2008 by Tim Tett.
