SYO travelled to Long Valley (Aldershot/Farnborough) last weekend for the CompassSport Cup Final with a small but select team of only 34 people (25 to count) and finished a mighty 2nd. Bristol with over 90 in their team won with Southern Navigators with over 100 in 3rd place. A big THANK YOU to all those who made the effort to run. We must have been the highest scoring team per person ever!
The area is, or was, an Army tank training area with many tracks, and man-made ditches. The planning was excellent with most people commenting that they were kept thinking all the way around with very little dead running. The 25 scorers are listed below (although we had 34 runners because only 4 could count in each class we effectively had only 28 possible counters). Well done to Michael, Pete, Tim and Pippa for their wins. We mustn't forget the other 9 who despite not counting did reduce the scores of the other teams.
