What better way to spend those cold miserable (sometimes) winter nights running on the roads than to do it with a sense of purpose – oh and something to look forward afterwards
– food and drink infused socials! The Urban Nights series is back again in its 3rd incarnation – basically the same as last year except with a different ‘7 Hills’. See attached flier and Facebook for further details.
The series kicks off with the Great Urban Fell Race followed by a winter BBQ on Tuesday 29th Oct – bring own food or order (burgers/sausages)
The series of 6 events comprises:
1 | Tue 29th Oct | The Great Urban Fell Race (night version) – visit Sheffield’s only Iron Age Hill Fort. Followed by a autumn BBQ |
2 | Tue 19th Nov | The Springvale Spiral- incorporating Sheffield’s steepest road Followed by Fish and Chips |
3 | Tue 17th Dec | The 7 Hills of Sheffield – whatever the Roman’s can do... Followed by a Curry |
4 | Tue 14th Jan | The North Stand – visit the oldest football ground in the World. Followed by Pizz |
5 | Tue 11th Feb | The Sportsman’s Score – how many can you visit in 90mins – with an alcoholic twist. |
6 | Thu 13th Mar | The Kelham Island street orienteering race – followed by Beer and Pub Food in Sheffield’s original Real Ale pub ‘The Fat Cat’ |
Each event will have a social element, e.g. BBQ, Pub afterwards, Curry House. Maps will be provided if you need them hence pre-entry is advisable. You MUST book in with Tim for the socials. Events 1 to 5 will start and finish at Tim Tett’s house – 68 Roebuck Road, Sheffield, S6 3GQ - maps cost 50p. Event 6 will start and finish at the Kelham Island car park at the back of the Fat Cat on Alma Street – entry fee £3. All events need road shoes – with grip on for race 1.
