June events

June is an action packed month with 6 fabulous events on offer.......

Sheffield Urban Fell Race - Sunday 2nd June

Race the streets of Sheffield, via checkpoints, in our exciting mass start urban hill 10k! Starting & finishing from the Innov8 shop in Sharrow Vale; it is designed to appeal to runners and orienteers alike. Over 16s only due to numerous road crossings. There are fabulous prizes on offer courtesy of Innov8. More info available here

You will need to enter in advance on the SYO Entry System by Friday 31st May.

Wednesday Evening Event - Scholes Coppice - 5th June

This is a brand new area for orienteering in Rotherham. We have yellow, orange, short green, green & blue courses on offer. More info available here.

You will need to enter in advance on the SYO Entry System by Tuesday 4th June.

We will need a couple of people to help on start and some control collectors. Pick "helper - free run" when entering and email Pauline.

Saturday Series 9 - Meersbrook Park

This is the last event for 2023/24 in our very popular Saturday Series of events and your last chance to score a counter in this year's league! There's the normal choice of courses from white to blue. Green & blue extend to Coneygree Wood.  No need to register in advance - just turn up on the day between 12.30pm and 2.30pm. More info here.

We will need plenty of helpers for this event. Please email Pauline if you can spare some time. Helpers get a free run.

Sheffield City Race Weekend - Stannington Sprint - Saturday 15th June

The first day of our City Race weekend is a sprint around the new area of Stannington. The event is a counter in the Yorkshire Urban League. More details available here.

Entries are open on Fabian4. Discounted entry fees available until Sunday 9th June. 

Volunteers are required please. 50% discount on entry fees until Sunday 9th June.

Sheffield City Race Weekend - Walkley Urban - Sunday 16th June

The 2nd day of our City Race weekend is an urban race around the streets of Walkley. The event is a counter in the UK Urban League. There are also a men's and women's sprint race, for those who prefer the sprint format to the long urban event.  More details available here.

Saturday Series Finale - Prize-giving event - Saturday 29th June

Please note the change of date from the 6th July.

This is an extra event that runs alongside the prize-giving. It doesn't count in the league so is just for fun. It's at Forge Dam with starts 12.30-2.30pm. There's no need to enter in advance - just turn up on the day.

The prize-giving is at 3pm. Prizes will be presented to 1st 3 in each age class, the winning year group team in each class and the first 3 primary and secondary schools. There's also certificates for everyone who has done 5 events or more and prizes for those that have done all 9 events. And there are even prizes for the male and female winners in our adults' league!
