SYO Orienteering - 20 May Graves Park

SYO Orienteering - 20 May Graves Park

The 8th event in the 2022/23 Saturday series is at Graves Park on 20th May. This is different to the venue advertised on the flyer due to a clash of events.

The SFSS schools' league runs alongside the public event.  Full details are on the website here. There is no need to pre-register - just turn up on the day between 12.30 and 3pm (2.30pm for longer courses). There are courses suitable for all.

We will be based by the Rose Garden cafe. Unfortunately the cafe is still closed.

Remember your best 5 events count in the league. There's a certificate for everybody who does 5 events and a prize for people who do all 9! However, we will also count those that have done 8 events and couldn't make the re-arranged Norfolk Park date as having done all 9.

Alongside the individual prizes, there are year group prizes and the overall school competition. Encourage your friends to have a go! There's also a separate league for adults - choose whichever course you prefer.

The overall schools' league results will be updated for the Parkwood Springs event in the next couple of days, here and the adults' league results are here.

We always welcome offers of help. You do not need have any experience. Please email Pauline if you can spare an hour or so.

On a different note this Wednesday 17th May is World Orienteering Day. To celebrate we have an event at Wincobank. Details here. We would love our Saturday competitors to join us. You do need to pre-enter on the SYO entry system by Tuesday 16th May. If you go round as a family or pair, you just need to make one entry.

Many thanks

Pete & Pauline Tryner
