Saturday Series 3 - Botanical Gardens & Canklow Coaching

Saturday Series 3 - Botanical Gardens & Canklow Coaching

Saturday Series 3

Saturday series 3 is at the Botanical Gardens on the 12th November. Full details here.

There are 6 different courses to choose from catering to all ages and abilities. The green & blue courses extend to the Collegiate Campus. Starts are 12.30-3pm (2.30pm for the longer courses). Just turn up on the day - no need to pre-register.

WOC medallist Charlotte Ward will be attending with her medal and will be available to answer questions, pose for selfies and offer coaching tips! Make sure you come & say hello!

The Botanical Gardens is normally our busiest event so we need lots of volunteers. Helpers get a free run. Please email me asap if you can spare an hour or so!

We will be also running a cake & hot drinks stall to raise funds for the SYO junior squad. We use this money to pay for YBT / Peter Palmer entries and subsidise coach trips to junior events. All donations of baked goods will be very much appreciated.

Coaching - Canklow

There will be a coaching and training session at Canklow on Saturday 19th November. This is your last chance to orienteer here before it is embargoed for the JK in 2025! More details here.

Sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities (including experienced orienteers) as we divide into different groups. Children not able to do a yellow course independently should be accompanied by an adult.

If you would like to attend you must book a place in advance. Please email Pauline by Thursday 17th November at 12 noon (at the very latest) so that we print enough maps and can ensure we have enough coaches available to comply with safety ratios.

The session will run 1.30-3.00pm. Parents who wish to accompany their children on the activities are encouraged or alternatively are very welcome to join one of the adults' groups and have a go themselves.  All participants should wear full leg cover and footwear with good grips. Please bring water and a waterproof in case of rain.

Cost will be £3 per session to non-members, free to club members.

Pauline
